India established, in a dramatic post-suspension move, nearly doubling the reservoir capacities of most of the vital hydroelectric schemes all over Jammu and Kashmir. The move is a historic turning of the pages on India's water resources development policy and is regarded as the first tangible move out of the shackles of the IWT since 1960.
