The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Goa, Raigad, and Ratnagiri, and an orange alert for Mumbai and surrounding districts, warning of extremely heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and gusty winds from May 23 through the weekend. Fishermen are advised to avoid the sea as rough conditions prevail. Monsoon onset is likely in Kerala soon.
