Bollywood Superstar Aamir Khan's movie, "Sitaare Zameen Par" following its release on June 20, 2025, has been a huge success at the box office. This is a big win, especially since his last movie, "Laal Singh Chaddha," did not do well.

"Laal Singh Chaddha," released in 2022, was a Hindi version of famous American movie "Forrest Gump." Even though Aamir Khan, who is known for making hit movies put ten years of efforts into it, the film failed at the box office. It made both experts and fans wonder what his next career move would be, with many expecting him to switch towards making more action-packed commercial films.

However, Aamir Khan, adding another story to his unique style, chose "Sitaare Zameen Par." It is like spiritual successor to his directorial debut "Taare Zameen Par" (2007).

In "Sitaare Zameen Par," Aamir plays Gulshan, a basketball coach who gets suspended. As punishment, he has to train a team of players with neurodiversity. The film explores important ideas like accepting differences and learning about oneself.

People with neurodiversity are the ones whose brain work differently, like people with autism or ADHS (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder).

The film had strong opening, earning Rs 10.7 crore on its first Friday and witnessed significant weekend growth, making Rs 20.2 crore on Saturday and Rs 27.25 crore on Sunday. Even though movie earnings usually drop during the weekdays, "Sitaare Zameen Par" maintained a steady hold, indicating strong positive word-of-mouth.

This reflects of the love which movie is getting from the people. Its second weekend also saw a big jump in collections, proving its popularity.

More than just box office success, "Sitaare Zameen Par" is being praised for its genuine effort to portray individuals with intellectual disabilities with respect and dignity. The film features talented neurodivergent actors including Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, and Rishi Shahani, who have been hailed as the true "stars" of the film.

After film's release, special screening was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi. India's President, Droupadi Murmu, attend the event and applauded its message of diversity, equity, and inclusion. While taking to 'X' handle, she wrote-
