India's Military Mode On: Navy Fires Missiles, IAF Holds Biggest Ever Exercise as Retaliation for Terror Attack at Pahalgam

It was 22nd April 2025, and India was shaken to its core when there had been a horrific terror attack was perpetrated in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The atrocities killed 26 innocent civilians and shattered the nation, leaving it broken.
While the country was placed in shock, India's Defense Forces struck back with enough ferocity and took revenge by suspending Indus Valley Treaty, shutting Attari Boarder, cancelling Pakistani Visas, and declaring that the attacks did not go in vain.
The message is unmistakable, India will protect its citizens, strike martyrs, obliterate the instrument of terror with precision and ruth.
Indian Navy successfully launched a crucial missile in the Arabian Sea. It was the very first ever to be launched from INS Surat, which is one of the Navy's technologically equipped and advanced indigenous guided missile destroyers.
The medium-range surface-to-air missile (MRSAM) missile, test missile, proved successful in its flight test against a sea-skimming low-flying target. The test has been successful with the missile reaching its target between a distance of about 70 kilometers. Success not only increases India's maritime shore defense but also indigenization in defense production success within the "Atmanirbhar Bharat" campaign.
Indian Navy added to this achievement by stating that it significantly enhances its ability to deter air attacks in turbulent seas, particularly the always-turbulent Indian Ocean.
The Exercise Aakraman took place in the central sector with the best-of-the-best fighter combat aircraft like Rafale, Sukhoi-30 MKI, Mirage 2000, etc., and strike combat fighter aircraft.
The flight schedule replicated deep penetration missions against diverse topography ranging from Plains to Half-mountainous to Hill elevations. Rafales carrying long-range Meteor air-to-air missiles and guided weapons like Hammer, Rocks, and Rampage exhibited firepower in all its fury.
Exercise Aakraman also involved mid-air refueling, electronic warfare training, and network-centric warfighting and demonstrated the IAF's long-range air attack capability over long duration periods of time.
Terror attack in Pahalgam caused diplomatic and strategic ripples. India has not released vital provisions of the Indus Waters Treaty—a three-decade-old river-sharing agreement between India and Pakistan. Pakistan has retaliated by revoking membership of the 1972 Simla Agreement which has served as the fulcrum of the bilateral conversation and administration of the Line of Control for decades.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his speech at the all-party meeting, denounced the attack, and made sure that the attackers and handlers were provided for. All opposition parties' inevitability concurred ito whatever was feasible by the government as a reaction to the attack.
Indian establishment is now suitably equipped with a healthy roll call of alternatives—armed attack, selective attack, and covert attack—to pursue cross-border operation against dismembering terror infrastructure.
Display of Indian Navy's might in the form of missile launches and great mobilization of the Air Force speaks volumes of a nation prepared—not merely to defend but retaliate mercilessly if attacked.
When the Armed Forces are on their toes, Indians stand behind their protectors. Uniformed bravery, technologic prowess, and unflinching devotion to nation are the umbrella under which 1.4 billion stand tall.
