Kamala Harris: Uniting South Asian Voters Through Bollywood

An Indian American Democratic fundraiser released a new digital video to encourage South Asian voters in crucial battleground states to support Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz. This campaign is part of a larger strategy to engage the South Asian community before the upcoming presidential elections.
The video, titled ‘I WILL VOTE FOR KAMALA HARRIS-TIM WALZ’, features a Bollywood-inspired theme, using the instrumental version of AR Rahmans song Dil Hai Chhota Sa, Choti Si Asha from the movie Roja. By leveraging familiar cultural elements, the campaign aims to connect with South Asian communities across important states like Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Georgia, Nevada, Arizona, and North Carolina.
Ajay and Vinita Bhutoria came up with the concept for the video, while Ritesh Parikh from Awesome TV took care of the production. The team ensured the video included messages in various South Asian languages. The languages include Telugu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam, and Urdu to engage a wider audience.
Ajay Bhutoria, a member of the National Finance Committee for Kamala Harriss campaign, highlighted the significance of unity within the South Asian community. He stated, This is the moment for us to unite and show our support for Kamala Harris. Bhutoria emphasized the urgency of the upcoming elections and the need for collective action among South Asians.
In his remarks, Bhutoria also announced plans to release more Bollywood-inspired videos aimed at boosting voter turnout. He emphasized the contrast between Kamala Harriss future vision and that of former President Donald Trump.
The choice is clear between Kamala Harris’ vision for a better future and Trump’s divisiveness.
