Following his release from jail for the Delhi Excise policy case, Delhi CM and Aam Aadmi Partys Chairperson Arvind Kejriwal, officially declared his resignation from the post of CM. Reacting to the resignation of Kejriwal, social worker Anna Hazare has passed a statement.
The Gandhian social activist said that he suggested Mr. Kejriwal not to enter politics, but he chose not to consider his advice.
Anna Hazare stated, “I told him since the beginning that you should not join politics but serve the people. We have worked together for many years and told him the same thing. He never listened to me and today what had to happen has happened.”
earlier, on the arrest of Kejriwal by ED (Enforcement Directorate) in relation to the Delhi liquor case, Hazare passed the statement that, it was consequences of his action.
Kejriwal shocked the nation with his sudden declaration of resignation from his post as Delhi CM, a mere days after the Delhi High Court granted him bail.
The Ex-Delhi CM, in his statement, said, Two days later, I will resign as Chief Minister. I will not sit on the chair till the people announce their judgment. Elections are months away in Delhi. I got justice from the legal court; I will get justice from the peoples court. I will sit on the Chief Ministers chair only after the order of the people.”
He further added, “I want to ask the people of Delhi, is Kejriwal innocent or guilty? If I have worked, vote for me. Additionally, he demanded the elections to be held in November 2024, and not in February 2025.
Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal significantly share a history, with their involvement in the movement against corruption. The movement was the point when Arvind Kejriwal, a typical middle-class Indian, came up with the idea of starting a new political party.
Within the months, Kejriwal commenced the Aam Aadmi Party with the symbol of a broom, specifically targeting the corruption in the nation. Back in 2013, Hazare refused to pass any comments regarding this, stating, Whatever is good, let him do that He will do whatever is right.
The Delhi administration is now in the hands of Atishi Marlena. She claimed to start a new government following the political instability in the nations capital, just when the assembly elections are around the corner.
Atishi, a sitting minister in Delhi came to light during the partys turbulence phase as the partys prominent leaders were behind bars. She on Tuesday, met Lieutenant Governor (LG) VK Saxena, along with Kejriwal and other ministers.
Atishi stated, The people of Delhi, the MLAs of the AAP, and I, being the chief minister (designate), will now work with only one objective till the elections in the next few months take place that we have to make Arvind Kejriwal the chief minister of Delhi again.
Delhi has only one chief minister and his name is Arvind Kejriwal.
