On August 8, 1963, Britain was rocked by a crime of unprecedented scale and audacity: the Great Train Robbery. A gang of criminals, through meticulous planning and brutal force, stopped a Royal Mail train in a quiet corner of Buckinghamshire and made off with a staggering sum of money.
Chapters on the lives and sacrifices of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Brigadier Mohammad Usman, and Major Somnath Sharma have been added to the NCERT syllabus in this academic year, in Class VIII (Urdu), Class VII (Urdu), and Class VIII (English), respectively.
The National Handloom Day is observed annually on 7th August to honor the handloom weavers in the country and also highlight India's handloom industry.
