Israeli Strikes Continue to Kill Dozens of Hezbollah Across Lebanon

In a dramatic turn of events in the Middle East, Israel launches several airstrike attacks in Lebanons Bekaa Valley region of Lebanon earlier on Monday, September 30, 2024. According to the Israeli Defense Forces, the airstrikes were targeted at Lebanons sites including the rocket launchers and buildings where Hezbollah was storing weapons.
The airstrikes were targeted at other sites in Southern Lebanon, which is being used by Hezbollah for terror operations against Israel. Notably, the attacks were aimed at destroying Hezbollahs infrastructure, especially the sites having weapons stored against Israel.
The attack comes hours after Israel hit Lebanon and Hezbollahs command structure, resulting in killing of hundreds of people and Hezbollahs leader, Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah.
The airstrike was targeted at a multi-story residential building. Videos showing ambulances and a gathered crowd around the building in a mainly Sunni district, are surfacing over the internet.
Following the tragic incident, the IDF also released a statement confirming its airstrikes which hit several Hezbollahs sites across the country. In dozens of additional attacks, fighter jets attacked launchers aimed at the rear of the state of Israel, buildings where weapons were stored and military buildings used by the organization for terrorist activities against the state of Israel, the IDF noted.
The Israeli military further added that the airstrikes would continue to target Hezbollahs military capabilities.
Earlier, Hezbollah also confirmed that Nabil Kaouk, the Deputy Head of the militant groups Central Council was killed on Saturday. This made him the 7th senior Hezbollah leader killed by Israeli airstrikes in a little over a week.
Before this, Hezbollah also confirmed that Israeli airstrikes had killed Ali Karaki, another senior command on Friday along with Nasrallah. While the IDF said at least 20 other Hezbollah leaders were killed, including one in charge of Nasrallahs security detail.
According to Lebanons health ministry, at least 105 were killed around the country in airstrikes on Sunday. Two strikes hit near the Southern city of Sidon, and at least 32 people were killed. The other Israeli strikes in the Northern Province of Baalbek Hermel killed 21 people and left at least 50 injured.
The Lebanese media reported that dozens of strikes hit the central, eastern, and western Bekaa and in the south, besides strikes in Beirut. These strikes have targeted buildings where civilians were living and the death toll was expected to increase.
Amid the war, the US President proposed that he would speak to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He believes that an all-out war in the Middle East must be avoided.
